Security Officer

We are currently seeking a talented and dedicated Security Officer to join our team in delivering warm and gracious hospitality to our members and guests.

Responsibilities
  • Patrol the Club property, facilities, and perimeter by vehicle and foot to ensure the safety and security of members, guests, employees, and assets.
  • Monitor and control access to the community by verifying resident decals, guest passes, visitor registrations, and contractor authorizations.
  • Verify and process unregistered visitors, issue authorized passes, and maintain accurate visitor and gate logs.
  • Maintain all required security logs, including gate activity logs, patrol logs, package receipt logs, and incident reports.
  • Respond promptly and appropriately to emergency and non‑emergency situations, including:
    • Alarm activations received through monitoring systems or local law enforcement agencies
    • Traffic accidents
    • Criminal or suspicious activity
    • Medical emergencies and requests for assistance
    • Wildlife and animal‑related incidents
  • Handle general service calls, including lockouts, motorist assistance, and member/guest assistance.
  • Enforce state and local laws, as well as Colleton River Club rules, regulations, policies, procedures, and covenants.
  • Issue citations and provide verbal or written warnings when appropriate; assist local law enforcement and emergency service agencies as requested.
  • Serve as a communication liaison between gate operations and patrol officers, dispatching security‑related information as needed.
  • Conduct routine house checks, building inspections, and security escorts as requested.
  • Accept, log, secure, and distribute packages in accordance with established procedures.
  • Operate mobile and stationary radar equipment to monitor vehicle speeds and promote traffic safety throughout the community.
  • Provide backup and support to fellow Security Officers as necessary.
  • Prepare, complete, and submit incident reports, daily activity reports, and other required documentation in a timely manner.
  • Perform duties in an unarmed capacity while maintaining a professional and service‑oriented presence.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.

  • Friday: 2:00 PM – 10:00 PM
  • Saturday: 2:00 PM – 10:00 PM
  • Sunday: 2:00 PM – 10:00 PM
Physical Demands
  • Lift and/or move up to 20 pounds.
  • Crawling, crouching, climbing stairs, kneeling, running, sitting, standing, stooping, and walking for extended periods of time.
  • Strong communication skills.

Pay Rate: $20.00 per hour

Ideal Candidate

You’re willing & able to:

  • Comprehend and learn tasks associated with security.
  • Understand South Carolina law.
  • Operate patrol truck.
  • Monitor video.
  • Monitor alarms.
  • Enforce laws and policies as directed.
  • Collaborate with other security officers, law enforcement, and emergency services.
  • Check for and report safety hazards.
  • Answer all calls promptly and professionally.
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED; or three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and clear driving record.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Must be SLED certified or eligible for certification, which requires U.S. citizenship.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
  • Must be SLED certified or eligible for certification, which requires U.S. citizenship.
  • Must be CPR/AED and First Aide certified or have the ability to become certified.
