Howell Chase is seeking a Senior Plumbing Technician to join our Skilled Labor team in the Construction industry. In this role, you will diagnose, repair, and install plumbing systems for residential and light commercial projects, ensuring high-quality workmanship and code compliance. You'll collaborate closely with HVAC teams, provide exceptional customer service, and mentor junior technicians. Responsibilities
- Lead residential and commercial plumbing installations, repairs, and retrofits for construction and service projects.
- Diagnose and resolve complex plumbing issues involving piping, fixtures, water heaters, pumps, and related systems.
- Interpret blueprints, schematics, and construction documents to plan and execute plumbing layouts in coordination with HVAC and construction teams.
- Ensure all work complies with local and state plumbing codes, safety regulations, and manufacturer requirements.
- Provide on-the-job training, guidance, and mentorship to junior and mid-level plumbing technicians.
- Communicate clearly with customers to explain findings, present repair or replacement options, and ensure a positive service experience.
- Perform preventive maintenance on plumbing systems and recommend improvements to enhance reliability and efficiency.
- Use digital tools to document work performed, create service reports, and manage work orders and time entries accurately.
- Maintain company tools, vehicles, and equipment in safe, clean, and working condition.
- Participate in an on-call rotation or extended hours as needed to support customer and project demands.
Required Skills
- Residential and commercial plumbing installation
- Plumbing system troubleshooting and diagnostics
- Reading and interpreting blueprints and schematics
- Pipe fitting, cutting, soldering, and brazing
- Fixture installation and repair (sinks, toilets, water heaters, etc.)
- Knowledge of local plumbing codes and regulations
- Backflow prevention and testing familiarity
- Use of plumbing inspection tools (cameras, leak detectors, gauges)
- Preventive maintenance of plumbing systems
- Job costing and basic estimating
- Customer service and client communication
- Digital work order and scheduling software
- Safety procedures and OSHA awareness
- Collaboration with HVAC and construction teams
