Job Title: Field Service Technician – HV Electrical Equipment (Direct Hire)
Location: Upstate South Carolina (Extensive Travel – U.S. & Canada)
Pay: Competitive pay based on experience
Schedule: Full-time | Onsite with up to 60% travel
Our client is a manufacturer supporting complex electrical equipment used in industrial and utility environments. They are known for their technical expertise, commitment to quality, and customer-focused service model. This is a direct-hire opportunity for a hands‑on professional who enjoys working in both plant and field environments.
They are seeking an experienced Field Service Technician to support commissioning, testing, training, and customer service efforts.
What you get to do:- Support customer requirements related to commissioning, troubleshooting, and service
- Perform testing on high-voltage equipment, including:
- Circuit function, timing, contact resistance, insulation resistance, and dielectric (Hi-Pot) testing
- Vacuum integrity, BCT, wire insulation, and helium leak testing
- Repair high-voltage equipment using work instructions and power/precision tools
- Travel to customer sites to perform field service, repairs, and testing
- Conduct classroom and hands‑on customer training
- Fulfill parts orders and respond to customer inquiries
- Document findings, generate reports, and communicate procedures using Microsoft software
- Maintain safety, quality standards, and organized work practices
- Associate degree preferred (Mechatronics, Engineering Technology, or similar); equivalent experience considered
- 3–5 years of experience in a manufacturing or field service environment
- Strong customer service and communication skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office
, especially Excel - ERP experience preferred (SAP ideal)
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work under pressure
- Willingness and ability to travel up to 60%
