Production Technician III

Reporting to the Production Technician Leader, the Production Technician III is responsible for all phases of plant operations. This position requires an individual with exceptional interpersonal skills who is comfortable working a rotating 12‑hour shift schedule.

The facility is a 520 MW natural gas‑fired combined cycle power generating station located in Blythe, California. This is a union position in the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers, Local 47.

• Preserve the facility's operational excellence through effective prioritization of operations, promoting high equipment reliability.
• Ensure compliance with Alta Gas' environmental and safety policies and practices.
• Follow defined processes and procedures to ensure the plant operates safely and efficiently.
• Perform all actions related to the operations of the plant.
• Assist with daily dispatch of the plant, operating 24/7/365 on a rotating 12‑hour shift basis.
• Conduct routine inspections during watch.
• Perform equipment troubleshooting.
• Suggest continuous improvement projects.
• Test equipment to ensure productivity and performance.
• Respect safety standards and maintain a clean work environment.
• Ensure all safety rules and safe‑work procedures such as lockout/tagout, confined space, and PPE are followed by the employee and others working in and around machinery.
• Act as a team player by assisting in ad‑hoc work in operations and maintenance as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• Electrical, mechanical, or I&C skills.
• High school diploma or GED.
• 3–5 years of relevant experience.
• Control room operator experience is considered an asset.
