We are seeking an experienced Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our Clinic team on a per-diem basis.

The Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant plays an important role in providing high-quality, patient-centered care to our community. This position provides direct care to primary care clinic patients, including scheduled follow-up, recheck, and same-day appointments. The Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant works collaboratively with physicians and other members of the healthcare team to support continuity of care and positive patient outcomes.

The Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant performs physical examinations, evaluates patients' physical and emotional health needs, orders appropriate diagnostic testing, performs procedures and treatments, prescribes medications within the authorized scope of practice, and provides education to patients and families regarding medical conditions, medications, treatment plans, and ongoing care.

This position provides age-appropriate care across the lifespan, including pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients, and is credentialed through the Medical Staff.

Skills and Abilities:
  • Strong patient assessment skills with the ability to evaluate physical and emotional health needs and develop appropriate plans of care.
  • Ability to provide safe, effective, and age-appropriate care to patients across the lifespan.
  • Ability to assess, diagnose, treat, and manage acute and chronic health conditions within the Nurse Practitioner's authorized scope of practice.
  • Skill in ordering and interpreting appropriate diagnostic tests.
  • Ability to perform approved clinical procedures and treatments.
  • Ability to prescribe medications in accordance with California law, applicable regulations, scope of practice, and organizational policies.
  • Strong patient and family education skills, including the ability to clearly communicate medical conditions, treatment plans, medications, and follow-up care.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with physicians and other members of the healthcare team to promote continuity and coordination of patient care.
  • Demonstrates sound clinical judgment and the ability to establish appropriate behavioral and professional boundaries.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a clinical environment.
  • Detail-oriented with a commitment to accurate and timely clinical documentation.
  • Ability to mentor and support other members of the healthcare team.
  • Consistent application of best practices and established standards to promote quality, patient safety, and positive clinical outcomes.
Qualifications Requirements/

Qualifications:
  • Master's degree required.
  • Graduate of an accredited nursing program, including an accredited Nurse Practitioner Program.
  • Current and valid California licensure as a Nurse Practitioner.
  • Current national board certification through the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), American Association of Nurse Practitioners (AANP), American Association of Critical-Care Nurses (AACN), Pediatric Nursing Certification Board (PNCB), or other applicable recognized certifying organization.
  • Current CPR/BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required.
  • Current DEA registration with appropriate prescribing authority.
  • Minimum of two years of experience as a Nurse Practitioner in a primary care or specialty care setting.
  • Experience providing care to patients across multiple age groups preferred.
  • Rural health, community health, or primary care experience is preferred.
