This CNC Lathe Programmer/Machinist role puts your programming and machining skills to work producing and repairing precision components on real production parts, not just running someone else's program.
With pay up to $40 an hour, three location options, and a full benefits package, it's a solid opportunity for an experienced machinist who wants the stability of an established national company.
- Set up, program, and operate CNC lathes, plus manual lathes, mills, and profile machines as needed
- Make programming and other adjustments to meet established specifications
- Monitor machines during operation to ensure everything is running properly
- Work from drawings, blueprints, and written instructions to make repairs, modifications, and replacement parts
- Determine dimensions, tolerances, sequence of operations, and machines required by studying blueprints, sketches, damaged parts, or written descriptions
- Compute cutting speeds, feed rates, and dimensions, and prepare and pre-set tooling for each job
- Rig and transport large parts and equipment by crane
- Inspect machined work pieces to verify conformance to specifications
- Perform daily maintenance checks and general housekeeping of your machine and work area
This role runs on CNC lathes with Fanuc, Mazak, and Mitsubishi controls. You'll also work on manual lathes, mills, and profile machines as the job requires.
What we're looking forRequired
- 2+ years of CNC lathe programming and machining experience
- Working knowledge of common metals and the measurements used in machining
- Ability to read and work from drawings, blueprints, and written instructions
- Comfortable rigging and transporting large parts and equipment by crane
