The successful candidate for the
** Plant Maintenance Lineman 1
** position must show the ability to work both independently and as part of a team. The candidate is responsible for the construction of both aerial and buried coax, copper and fiber optic cables, according to company construction practices and procedures.

** What You'll Be Doing:
*** Construction, maintenance, and transferring of aerial and underground HFC, FTTH, and telephone plant
* Competent pole and ladder climbing skills
* Works aloft utilizing climbing gaffs, ladders, and mechanical lifts
* Operates company vehicles and equipment including bucket trucks, fork lifts, backhoes/trenchers, and other machines
* Works outdoors in the elements
* Reads network design prints
* Accurately maintains daily log sheet and inventory paperwork
* Knowledge regarding NEC construction guidelines and Armstrong construction practices
* Follows all Armstrong safety policies
* Maintains vehicles and machines to Armstrong standards
* Other assigned tasks

* What You’ll Need:

*** High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
* Must possess a positive attitude, a strong work-ethic, and a desire to learn
* Physical capabilities including climbing, lifting, and carrying a minimum of 75 lbs.
* Must maintain physical fitness to meet weight limit requirements for ladders and lifts and be able to meet the demands of a labor-intensive job
* Must be able to take direction verbally and written and be able to work rapidly under time pressure
* Demonstrated ability to make sound judgments and ethical decisions
* Available to work after business hours as required, i.e. storm damage
* Regular, punctual, and consistent attendance
* on a rotating basis.
