Community Education Coordinator/Extended Day Director

Job Goals:

• To maintain a climate of health and well-being within the BCSS extended day program.

Qualifications:

• Must have graduated from an accredited school of nursing.
• Must be a Licensed Practical Nurse or RN
• Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may require.

Performance Responsibilities and Essential Functions:

• Investigate individual health problems of all students and consult with appropriate agencies for treatment then follow-up and submit any required reports.
• Administer first aid in accordance with established first aid procedures and state guidelines
• Monitor all diabetic students and administer all medication, injections as needed
• Assume authority, in the absence of a physician, for the care of a student or staff member who has suffered an injury or emergency illness.
• Prepare and submit reports for the Lead School Nurse
• Advise teachers on health matters, particularly regarding screening for student health defects
• Assist school personnel in establishing sanitary conditions in schools

Evaluation: Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the Boaz City Board of Education.
