- Terms of Employment: Part-Time, temporary
- Reports To: Community Education Coordinator/Extended Day Director
To maintain a climate of health and well-being within the BCSS extended day program.
Qualifications- Must have graduated from an accredited school of nursing.
- Must be a Licensed Practical Nurse or RN
- Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may require.
- Investigates individual health problems of all students and consults with appropriate agencies for treatment then follow-up and submits any required reports.
- Administer first aid in accordance with established first aid procedures and state guidelines.
- Monitor all diabetic students and administer all medication, injections as needed.
- Assume authority, in the absence of a physician, for the care of a student or staff member who has suffered an injury or emergency illness.
- Prepare and submit reports for the Lead School Nurse.
- Advise teachers on health matters, particularly regarding screening for student health defects.
- Assist school personnel in establishing sanitary conditions in schools.
Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the Boaz City Board of Education.
