Truck Driver CDL A (Boaz)
Position:
Truck Driver CDL A (Boaz).
Location:
Boaz, Alabama. Shift: Monday - Friday with dispatch starting ary: $1,500 minimum weekly pay; potential annual earnings up to $75,000 or more. Must be able to layover. 1st Shift. Full-time.
Of the core responsibilities, the Route Driver is responsible for driving a tractor‑trailer or straight truck on intrastate and interstate local, over‑the‑road (OTR), shuttle, and overnight and drive‑and‑drop routes for the purpose of delivering food and food‑related products to customers in a safe and timely manner in accordance with Department of Transportation (Use the "Apply for this Job" box below). Responsibilities
- Perform all required safety checks (pre‑ and post‑trip) including inspections of tractor/truck and trailer according to DOT regulations and company safety standards.
- Report all safety issues, repairs required, and hazards immediately.
- Inspect trailer for properly loaded and secured freight.
- Count items and verify product invoices before loading.
- Complete all required paperwork accurately and legibly.
- Drive to and deliver customer orders according to the predetermined route schedule.
- Unload products from the trailer, transport items to designated customer storage areas, and perform damage control checks.
- Verify delivery of items with the customer and obtain proper signatures; collect money where required.
- Load customer returns onto the trailer, secure trailer doors, and ensure all freight is locked and secured.
- Unload damaged goods and customer returns, complete necessary paperwork, and dispose of equipment, materials, and trash from trailers as required.
- Maintain a daily record of hours of service and enter logs in accordance with Federal DOT, state, and company requirements.
- Perform general housekeeping duties in the tractor, loading dock area, keeping trailers clear and clean.
- Secure all equipment at the end of the shift and complete all necessary paperwork.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
- High School Diploma/GED or equivalent.
- 6+ months tractor/trailer commercial driving experience.
- Valid Class A license; 21+ years of age.
- Meet all state licensing and/or certification requirements.
- Clean Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) for the past 3 years.
- Pass post‑offer drug test and criminal background check.
- Pass road test.
- Attain or have a valid current DOT Health Card or be able to secure one.
- Able to hand‑lift and utilize two‑wheeler, lift gate, and/or other equipment to move and stack product cases ranging from 10–35pounds to approximately 60–90pounds.
- 1+ year experience in food service distribution/delivery industry.
- Onboard computer and electronic log system experience (e.g., People Net).
- Hand‑held point‑of‑delivery scanning system experience (e.g., POD).
- Customer service–related work experience.
