Summary
Responsible for assisting in the day-to-day maintenance of a complete and accurate general ledger and in preparing basic financial reports while directly supervising one or more individuals. The role is seen as developmental for individuals who have exhibited managerial potential through past performance.
Responsible for account reconciliations, assistance with process improvements and account reconciliation efficiencies, journal entry, and balance sheet reconciliation review. Must be familiar with Sarbanes Oxley requirements and assist in maintaining those controls. Interact with external and internal auditors on a regular basis as well as coordinate audit needs with the team. Supervise/mentor other staff and senior accountants, with responsibility over career development.
Responsibilities& Qualifications
- Reconcile complex general ledger accounts monthly, including research and resolution of discrepancies.
- Maintain and enhance financial systems and reporting mechanisms.
- Prepare/review monthly journal entries and supporting schedules.
- Prepare/review account reconciliations.
- Participate in month end, quarter end, and year end closings.
- Communicate with team members from other functional areas as well as external sources.
- Comply with internal controls and best practices and assist in other accounting projects as requested.
- Provide information for auditors and for other special projects.
- Delegate work to staff as necessary.

- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field.
- 4+ years of experience in accounting or related field.
- CPA or MBA, preferred.
- Some supervision experience is a plus.
- Experience with ERP ledger systems is preferred.
- Revenue accounting experience - especially ASC
606 revenue recognition - is a plus.
- Must be organized and detail-oriented, flexible, able to work independently, possess a strong systems background and good oral and written communication skills, and have experience working in a large corporate environment.
- Ability to communicate effectively with leadership.
- Able to understand and apply technical accounting concepts.
- Advanced Excel.
- Ability to utilize computer technology.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Problem solving skills; ability to “think outstide the box.”
- Analytical thinking skills.
