JOB SUMMARY

We’re looking for a Senior Accountant reporting to our Corporate Office in Boca Raton, FL to be part of the monthly closing, analytical, reconciliation and reporting processes. The position requires someone who is very hands‑on with strong analytical skills and will understand the company’s business activities and its impacts on assigned areas. The position focuses on operational locations, related fixed assets, and general accounting area support.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Performing assigned monthly Journal Entries, closing responsibilities, analytics, and reporting.
  • Work will be focused on the following areas: (1) real estate accounting relating to operating expenses incurred including rent, common area expenses, real estate taxes (2) lease liability accounting, (3) rent expense generation from real estate database on a monthly basis.
  • Other areas of responsibility:
    • Assistance with fixed asset setup, depreciation generation, asset disposals, fixed asset reconciliation
    • Accounting and analysis of all operating expenses related to our locations including maintenance, repair, and capital expenditures
    • Accounting for fuel usage in our vehicles and related analysis of results
    • Accounting for prepaid assets such as maintenance contracts, insurance, supplies
    • Accounting for other vehicle related expenditures such as repairs and maintenance and related operational expenses
    • Handling the company’s credit card statements and recording activity off those statements
    • Recording recurring journal entries which includes assessing if the entries need to change based on current activities
    • Becoming knowledgeable about our business operations and how that relates to assigned areas
    • Being proactive in communicating with other areas of the business to ensure that activities in your assigned areas are addressed and reflected properly in the accounting records
    • Preparing balance sheet reconciliations on all assigned accounts
    • Preparing PL analyses on all assigned accounts
    • Interim and year-end audit support
    • Working with an integrated ERP platform and participating in its maintenance and updates
    • Financial statement preparation as required for banks and other lenders
    • Participating in creating, updating, and maintaining accounting policies and procedures
    • Collaborating with other areas of the organization to support and improve the business
SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting from an accredited university
  • Minimum four years experience is required with two at a senior level position
  • Work experience preferably at a service organization with revenue of more than $250M and with multiple sets of books where intercompany/business unit transactions are recorded
  • Knowledge of financial statements and how balance sheet and income statement accounts relate to each other Knowledge of GAAP or IFRS , specifically prepaid amortization concepts and accrual concepts
  • Understanding of real estate concepts such as accounting for facility expenditures, lease liability accounting, common area maintenance, real estate taxes and exposure to lease contracts highly preferred
  • Experience with large ERP systems; JDE preferred
  • Experience with Microsoft Office; strong Excel skills required
  • Experience with analytical/reporting tools
  • Proven growth and diversity of responsibilities in their current organization
  • Understanding deadlines and timing that necessitates ability to put in necessary time to meet team and individual deadlines
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Able to work at our corporate office three days per week on hybrid work schedule
