Job Summary

Currently seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to join our team. Duties include completing monthly accounting records, reviewing journal entries, and guiding clerical staff while abiding GAAP guidelines.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Ensure timeliness of the month end close process and completeness and accuracy of accounting records in accordance with US GAAP
  • Perform and properly document general journal entries
  • Review journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, and financial statements for month end close
  • Partner with Purchasing and Supply Chain department to validate and audit product cost on vendor invoices
  • Partner with Operations and Business Optimization teams to coordinate, monitor and record physical inventories, including participation in physical inventory
  • Calculate labor and overhead allocations
  • Guide clerical staff in Accounts Receivable by coordinating activities and answering questions
  • Ensure all invoices have appropriate documentation and approval prior to payment
  • Manage the weekly payments by verifying documentation and requesting disbursements
  • Manage the Accounts Payable ledger to ensure payables are not past due
  • Manage daily activities of Accounts Payable staff, including weekly vendor payments
  • Maintain Fixed Asset Schedules
  • Compile annual personal property information by location/entity
  • Monitor internal control procedures
  • Prepare audit selections and work papers for auditor review
  • Produce ad hoc reporting as requested
Requirements Education, Experience & Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required
  • Must have at least 3-6 years of accounting experience; experience in the construction industry preferred
  • Advanced MS Office skills (PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook) demonstrated on resume
  • Financial analysis skills and working knowledge of US GAAP
  • Knowledge of Enterprise Resource Planning systems
Physical Demands
  • Ability to sit at computer monitor for long periods throughout the day
  • Must possess the ability to stand for long periods of time; reach with hands and arms; move among and between offices; handle mail and documents; sit, stoop, kneel and crouch; lift and move up to 10 pounds; see well enough to discern differences in quality of documents and files
