Job Description
Withum's Auditing and Attest Engagement services are the cornerstone of our firm. Our audit and advisory team provides audit services, review and compilation services, and other agreed-upon audit procedures to a variety of client sizes and industries. The successful candidate will work exclusively with Withum's Healthcare Services group, providing audit services to healthcare organizations. You will lead all aspects of audit engagements, from planning to completion, including supervision and mentoring of staff and maintaining client relationships.
HowYou'll Spend Your Time
- Lead the engagement team on planning and execution of an audit, review, or compilation engagement to provide world-class client service.
- Oversee day‑to‑day operations of audit engagements, including staffing, planning, risk assessment, fieldwork, financial reporting, and conclusion.
- Supervise and support engagement staff, seniors, and supervisors, promoting open communication with the engagement partner.
- Collaborate with seniors or supervisors and partners on client issue resolution and make recommendations for any legal, regulatory, and accounting issues that arise during an engagement.
- Manage multiple engagements concurrently with various teams to meet client deadlines.
- Create and track engagement budgets to review for inefficiencies, and conduct constructive discussions with team members on evaluations and provide counsel accordingly.
- Serve in professional development programs as an instructor or discussion leader.
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting.
- CPA license, or working toward CPA certification with parts passed.
- At least 3 years of public accounting experience, including leading multiple engagements and supervising staff.
- Experience serving clients in the healthcare industry, including healthcare systems, hospitals, post‑acute care facilities, and both for‑profit and not‑for‑profit entities.
- Understanding of uniform guidance as it relates to healthcare organizations.
- Excellent analytical, technical, and auditing skills, including familiarity with US GAAP.
- Exceptional client service and communication skills with a demonstrated ability to develop and maintain outstanding client relationships.
- Ability to manage multiple engagements and competing projects.
- Strong leadership, training, and mentoring skills, coupled with excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills to represent the firm well to client management.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, project management skills, strong attention to detail, and proven innovative problem‑solving skills.
- Ability to travel as needed.
Compensation ranges by location:
Whippany, NJ: $100,000‑$135,000 annually. New York City: $112,500‑$165,000 annually. In addition to base compensation, Withum offers a competitive benefits package and bonus program for eligible roles.
