Lead Accounts Payable Specialist

Lead a team of Accounts Payable Specialists and work collaboratively with management to support and oversee all payables processing. Participate fully in department initiatives, provide technical training and guidance to department members and partners, and consistently demonstrate SBA's values. Make analytical decisions and understand their downstream impact.

• Lead day‑to‑day duties of the AP team, ensuring all invoices and payments are processed correctly and timely.
• Meet regularly with team members to provide training, review current issues, and resolve payment discrepancies.
• Review team productivity reports to meet productivity goals.
• Ensure policies, procedures—including tax requirements for each country—and key SOX controls are followed.
• Assist with governmental reporting requirements.
• Coordinate monthly research and corrective action on stale dated checks.
• Review aged items on the monthly aging reports for all markets and recommend resolutions.
• Provide oversight on payment processes handled by a third‑party provider.

• High school diploma/GED required. Associate’s degree preferred.
• Minimum 7 years of AP experience in an international environment, with at least 5 years in a team lead or equivalent role. (Alternate: Associate’s degree required and minimum 5 years of AP experience with team lead role)
• Demonstrated knowledge and proficiency working with Microsoft Dynamics D365 preferred.
• Strong analytical and decision‑making skills with understanding of downstream impact.

Ability to stoop, bend, kneel or crouch; stand, walk, sit; reach with hands and arms; visual acuity correctable to 20/20; sit up to 90% of the day; respond verbally in a professional manner; manual dexterity to input data; lift up to 15 pounds.
