Staff Accountant

Description

We are looking for a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to support day-to-day accounting operations in Boca Raton, Florida. This position plays an important role in maintaining accurate financial records, preparing commissions, and ensuring transactions are recorded in accordance with established accounting standards. The ideal candidate brings strong knowledge jornal entries, general ledger activity, month-end closing along with the ability to work accurately in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:

- Prepare and post journal entries to maintain complete and accurate financial records across reporting periods.

- Reconcile general ledger accounts and investigate discrepancies to ensure the integrity of financial data.

- Prepare commission statements

- Support month-end and year-end close processes by organizing documentation and verifying account activity.

- Analyze financial transactions and maintain accounting records that align with internal policies and reporting requirements.

- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to gather information needed for account analysis and audit support

Requirements

+ Bachelors in Accounting

+ Experience in staff accounting or a similar accounting role with responsibility for general ledger maintenance.

+ Ability to prepare journal entries accurately and understand their impact on financial statements.

+ Strong account reconciliation and analytical skills with close attention to detail.

+ Proficiency in standard accounting systems ideally SAGE INTACCT and strong Excel skills
