Collections Specialist
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Collections Specialist to join a growing team in Boca Raton, FL. The Collections Specialist will be responsible for managing outstanding accounts, communicating with customers regarding past-due balances, resolving billing discrepancies, and helping maintain accurate accounts receivable records.
Responsibilities
- Manage a portfolio of accounts and monitor outstanding and past-due balances
- Contact customers via phone and email regarding outstanding invoices and payment status
- Review accounts receivable aging reports and prioritize collection efforts
- Research and resolve billing discrepancies, short payments, disputes, and account issues
- Negotiate payment arrangements and follow up on payment commitments
- Maintain detailed documentation of collection activities and customer communications
- Reconcile customer accounts and research unapplied or missing payments
- Partner with Accounting, Accounts Receivable, Sales, and Customer Service teams to resolve account issues
- Escalate severely delinquent or high-risk accounts as appropriate
- Assist with month-end accounts receivable reporting and account cleanup
- Maintain positive customer relationships while effectively collecting outstanding balances
