Position Summary
The School of Criminology and Criminal Justice at Florida Atlantic University seeks an Administrative Support Assistant to manage the reception area, provide administrative support to the School’s Director and Executive Committee, schedule faculty meetings and events, maintain records, coordinate school events, and manage office supplies and communications.
Responsibilities- Provide office administration and program support in person and over the phone with a friendly, courteous, and professional demeanor.
- Respond to inquiries from students, faculty, other College constituents, and the broader University community.
- Supervise and train student workers and temporary staff.
- Assist faculty and staff with repairs, ordering supplies, copying, scanning, and scheduling events, classes, and equipment setup.
- Process Workday and other FAU systems business processes, including hiring, budgeting, invoice preparation, faculty and student travel, expense reports, reimbursements, and check requests.
- Assist speakers and facilitators with course materials, advertising, signage, catering, payment processing, and facilitator payments.
- Create surveys, completion certificates, CEU reporting documents, and other related materials.
- Attend relevant committee or planning meetings, record minutes, and manage continuing education One Drive.
- Update database to track attendees and coordinate with the College-level Director of Communications on social media outreach.
- Update and maintain the School’s website and video monitors using official content management systems.
- Provide supplemental assistance to the College Dean’s office as needed.
- High school diploma or equivalent with a minimum of four years of relevant experience.
- Preferred:
Bachelor’s degree in criminology, criminal justice, or a related field. - Effective in-person, phone, and digital communication skills.
- Strong time‑management and multitasking skills.
- Technologically savvy with familiarity in office management software and student applications (e.g., Workday, Microsoft Office, Canvas).
- Growth mindset and desire to pursue professional development opportunities.
Hourly rate: $20.75 (Non‑Exempt). Tuition assistance is available after six months of full‑time employment for eligible staff and eligible spouses or dependents for in‑unit faculty.

Monday – Friday, 8a.m. – 5p.m.; occasional work outside regular hours may be required for special events.
