Staffing Coordinator/Unit Secretary
Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Staffing Coordinator/Unit Secretary to join our Florida team. As a key member of our healthcare support staff, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our rehabilitation center. Staffing Coordinator/Unit Secretary will be responsible for coordinating staffing levels, scheduling, and administrative tasks, while also providing exceptional customer service to patients, families, and healthcare professionals.
- Coordinate staffing levels and schedules for nursing units and ancillary departments to ensure maximum efficiency and minimal downtime
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records, including staffing reports, schedules, and time-off requests
- Develop and implement effective staffing strategies to optimize labor costs and improve patient care
- Collaborate with nursing and ancillary departments to ensure seamless communication and coordination
- Provide administrative support to management and staff, including preparing reports, invoices, and meeting materials
- Maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion
- Demonstrate excellent customer service skills, responding to patient and family inquiries, and addressing concerns in a timely and professional manner
- Perform clerical duties related to admission and discharge patients
- Keep confidential all patient information received.
- Answer telephone and intercom, take messages and communicate messages to the appropriate person.
- Schedule patient appointments and tests.
- Assist in orientation of new staff to clerical duties of the unit.
- Keep nursing station stocked and with adequate supply forms and other clerical needs.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; degree in healthcare administration, business, or related field preferred
- 1-2 years of experience in a healthcare setting, preferably in a scheduling or coordination role
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail and ability to multitask
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with ability to work effectively with diverse groups
- Proficiency in electronic medical records and scheduling software (training provided)
- Knowledge of medical terminology helpful, but not necessary.

- Ability to communicate in English effectively through verbal and written means.
