Finance and Business Specialist

Position Summary

The A.D. Henderson University School at Florida Atlantic University is seeking a Finance and Business Specialist in Boca Raton, FL. The role provides administrative and financial support for the FAU Lab Schools, assisting with budget, payment, and record‑keeping processes while ensuring efficient operations and excellent customer service. Responsibilities include fee collection, financial reporting, travel coordination, supplier onboarding, and communication with Lab School families and university stakeholders.

• Work closely with the FAU Lab Schools’ Director of Finance and school leadership to meet Lab School goals.
• Provide technical support for efficient record‑keeping of budget, finance, and payment activities.
• Collect, monitor, and generate data from payment systems, student databases, and related programs, including activity fees, uniforms, meals, and field trips.
• Prepare regular reports on fee collections and other related programs.
• Communicate with Lab School families regarding fees, field trips, and payment questions.
• Maintain high‑level customer service for Lab School families and university employees.
• Develop timely parent letters and email communications.
• Handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion and professionalism.
• Analyze workflows and recommend process improvements for efficiency.
• Support supplier onboarding in Workday and verify receipt of delivered materials.
• Assist with creation of manuals and job aids.
• Support travel‑related payments, including flights, hotels, and registration fees, and coordinate tax exemption documentation.
• Assist finance team members as directed and adhere to university, district, state laws, regulations, policies, and processes.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

• Minimum Requirements
  :
  High school diploma with five years of relevant experience,
  * or* bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution with two years of relevant experience.
• Preferred Qualifications / Skills
  :
  Advanced proficiency in Excel and Google Workspace applications; strong written and verbal communication skills; quick adaptability to new software platforms.
