Job Description
- Lead portions of the prime project contract, including staff management.
- Advise manager of the overall project on their portion of the overall project.
- Implement project plan of overall project manager.
- Implement project resource plan and manage staffing of assigned portions.
- Determine and coordinate proper staffing within the project, including identification of outside resources (subs/vendors) and ensuring procurement processes are followed.
- Clearly communicate project deadlines, assignments, and objectives to project team members.
- Assign work and provide direction to project staff regarding timeliness and completion of objectives.
- Coach project staff and provide feedback to staff and supervisors on performance; escalates performance issues to appropriate management and HR.
- Identify, quantify, and communicate residual risk (time and cost).
- Create and review timely client billings with internal billing support, ensuring timely client payment; follow up on outstanding invoices.
- Review and approve subcontractor/vendor invoices to ensure timely payment to outside resources.
- Create project definitions, schedules, budgets, and objectives for assigned portions.
- Prepare detailed statements of work with associated work breakdown structures and gain concurrence from internal and external stakeholders.
- Assess potential project risk and outline risk mitigation solutions.
- Ensure adherence to company and project management policies, procedures and practices.
- Perform other duties as required.
- Build, maintain and manage strong client relationships, ensuring client satisfaction by delivering high-quality, on-time outcomes.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management or related discipline.
- 6 years of related experience. Equivalent additional directly related experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
- Domestic and/or international travel may be required; frequency contingent on duties and project demands.
- Advanced mathematical knowledge.
- Advanced computational skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Good personal computer skills.
- Advanced knowledge of construction industry terminology.
