Our client, a well-respected national construction and disaster recovery firm, is looking for Healthcare Construction Superintendents to assist with Reconstruction and Cap Ex projects across the country.
The position requires 75% travel nationwide. While the office is in South Florida, candidates do not have to be from the area to be considered.
CANDIDATES CAN BE FROM ANYWHERE IN THE COUNTRY SO LONG AS THEY CAN TRAVEL NATIONALLY AND HAVE THE RIGHT EXPERIENCE
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Execution Oversight
- Maintain full-time presence onsite during all active work periods
- Coordinate daily field activities and subcontractor operations to ensure safety, quality, and schedule alignment
- Enforce jobsite protocols, including PPE, access control, housekeeping, and safety perimeter enforcement
- Actively observe construction activities and intervene as needed to correct sequencing, craftsmanship, or crew behavior
- Monitor adherence to construction documents, including plans, specifications, scopes of work, and submittals
- Safety and Quality Leadership
- Implement and enforce site-specific safety plans and hazard controls
- Serve as the primary safety advocate in the field; identify and escape unsafe conditions
- Participate in pre-cover and pre-pour inspections and review field work for craftsmanship and compliance
- Ensure timely resolution of punch list and field-generated deficiencies
- Lead by example through consistent PPE use, clear communication, and orderly work environments
- Planning and Coordination:
Assist in short-interval scheduling, material tracking, and manpower forecasting - Maintain accurate and complete daily field reports and inspection logs
- Collaborate closely with Project Management to align field execution with contract milestones and client expectations
- Support field-driven validation of change events and schedule updates
- Coordinate across scopes, teams, and departments to avoid conflicts, downtime, or misalignment
- Communication and Team Culture
- Model and reinforce company operational and cultural values on site
- Communicate clearly, steadily, and respectfully with project teams, subcontractors, client representatives, and city inspectors
- Support onboarding and mentorship of junior team members and contribute to a strong safety-first culture
- Act as the onsite voice of the company, representing the company professionally to all stakeholders
- 3-5+ years prior experience as a Construction Superintendent in commercial settings.
- Computer skills including internet, e-mail, (MS Outlook) MS Excel, and MS Word
- Experience working for a general contractor
- Extensive knowledge of established construction and maintenance practices, procedures, and techniques, as well as applicable local, State, and Federal building codes and legislation
- Familiarity with a wide range of equipment and tools and proficiency in skilled construction, maintenance, and repair tasks
- Ability to read and interpret documents in English, such as work orders, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
- Ability to travel up to 75% nationwide
- Valid Driver's License with clean driving record
- Prior experience as a superintendent, foreman, or lead technician in commercial construction
- Experience in occupied renovations, restoration, healthcare environments, or multifamily rehab strongly preferred
- Experience coordinating subcontractors and managing field documentation
- Associate degree in Construction Management, Construction Technology, Building Science, or related technical field
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Architecture, or related discipline
- OSHA 30-Hour Construction Safety Certification
- Construction Health and Safety Technician (CHST)
- CM-Lean Certification
- First Aid/CPR Certification
- Competent Person designation for scaffolding, fall protection, or excavation (as applicable)
Salary: 75k-85k based on experience
