Brown Design Group is seeking an experienced and highly motivated Senior Commercial Interior Designer to join our growing Commercial Design team in our Boca Raton office.

EDUCATION

Bachelor's degree in Interior Design required

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Interior Design from an accredited program required.

QUALIFICATIONS
  • 7-10+ years of professional interior design experience required.
  • Significant experience with commercial, multifamily, hospitality, or similar projects strongly preferred.
  • New construction and renovation experience is required.
  • Strong proficiency in AutoCAD and Sketch Up required;
    Photoshop experience preferred.
  • Experience with SPEXX preferred.
  • Proficiency in Google Workspace, including Gmail, Docs, Sheets, Slides, and Forms.
  • Strong understanding of budgets, schedules, specifications, and project documentation.
  • Exceptional attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
  • Excellent presentation, communication, client-service, and organizational skills.
  • Persistent, proactive, and resourceful - very important to this role.
  • Ability to independently identify issues, develop solutions, and follow through without constant direction.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Professional attitude with a strong commitment to quality and client service.
  • Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead projects and mentor, coach, and develop Design Assistants and junior designers.
RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Lead and manage interior design projects from initial concept through completion and installation.
  • Develop and execute creative, functional, and cohesive design concepts that meet client objectives, project requirements, budgets, and schedules.
  • Take ownership of assigned projects and ensure all design deliverables are completed accurately and on schedule.
  • Prepare and present professional design concepts and presentations to clients and project stakeholders.
  • Develop project proposals, budgets, design specifications, and finish schedules.
  • Lead furniture, fixture, and equipment selections (FF&E;).
  • Select and coordinate furniture, fabrics, finishes, materials, lighting, accessories, and other design elements.
  • Prepare and coordinate drawings, elevations, and layouts.
  • Collaborate closely with architects, contractors, builders, vendors, suppliers, subcontractors, and project managers.
  • Participate in client meetings, project meetings, and design presentations.
  • Conduct jobsite visits and assist with installation supervision, punch lists, and project closeout.
  • Source products, materials, and furnishings from vendors and manufacturers.
  • Review samples, shop drawings, specifications, and other project-related materials for accuracy and design intent.
  • Respond to client questions and project issues in a timely, professional, and solutions-oriented manner.
  • Proactively identify project challenges and develop effective solutions.
  • Maintain project schedules, budgets, documentation, and deadlines.
  • Provide consistent weekly project updates to the Design Director and clients.
  • Work closely with the Commercial Design, Project Management, Procurement, and other internal teams to ensure successful project execution.
  • Mentor and support Design Assistants and junior designers, helping to maintain Brown Design Group's design standards and processes.
  • Maintain a high level of organization, accountability, and professionalism across all assigned projects.
