Position Summary:
Florida Atlantic University is seeking an Assistant Director, Youth Protection Compliance Program.
- Boca Raton, FL.
The Assistant Director, Youth Protection Compliance Program, is responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing Florida Atlantic University's Youth Protection Compliance Program in alignment with best practices and regulatory requirements. The Assistant Director, Youth Protection Compliance Program reports directly to the Chief Compliance and Ethics Officer. This role ensures compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and university policies related to youth engagement, including background screening, training, program registration, and risk mitigation.
The Assistant Director will conduct audits and site visits, provide guidance to various units across the university, and lead efforts to create a safe environment for minors participating in university-sponsored or hosted programs.
Summary of responsibilities:
Program Development & Policy Implementation:
+ Develop and maintain FAU's Youth Protection Compliance Program policies and procedures consistent with federal, state, and university legal and regulatory standards.
+ Implement and oversee the university's youth compliance program for all university-affiliated programs and events involving minors.
+ Develop, draft, and maintain policies, procedures, and guidance related to FAU's Youth Protection Compliance Program.
+ Collaborate with the key stakeholders across campus to ensure compliance with federal, state, and university youth protection regulations and policies.
+ Provide guidance and support to university units hosting youth programs.
+ Ensure alignment with federal, state, and institutional regulations.
Training &
Education:
+ Design and deliver comprehensive training programs focused on child abuse prevention, mandated reporting requirements, and youth safety best practices
+ Conduct education and outreach activities, including building and maintaining the youth compliance website and providing virtual and in-person training.
+ Serve as the university's subject matter expert for Youth Protection Compliance.
+ Respond to reports of suspected child abuse or neglect and coordinate with appropriate law enforcement authorities, federal and state agencies, and university offices.
Program Evaluation & Compliance Monitoring:
+ Develop and implement a monitoring program for youth compliance activities.
+ Collect and analyze data to measure program effectiveness and inform strategic improvements.
+ Perform scheduled and ad hoc site visits of youth programs to verify compliance with FAU policies, safety standards, and risk mitigation strategies.
+ Stay current on emerging trends in youth safety and compliance within higher education.
Compliance and Ethics Program Support:
+ Assists the Chief Compliance and Ethics Officer with policy development and managing various Compliance and Ethics programs.
+ Performs other job-related duties as assigned by the Chief Compliance and Ethics Officer.
