Job Description & How to Apply Below

The Nadel Center for Early Childhood Education (NCECE) at Congregation B’nai Israel (CBI) is one of the largest and most respected early childhood programs in South Florida, serving more than 400 children from infancy through Pre‑K. We are seeking a passionate, dedicated, and experienced Early Childhood Lead Teacher to join our exceptional teaching team for the upcoming school year. The assigned age‑level/class will be based upon program need and candidate experience.

Our preschool is a warm and inclusive Jewish learning environment where we support the social, emotional, intellectual, physical, and spiritual development of every child. We offer a fulfilling and rewarding work environment with opportunities for professional development and growth.

Responsibilities
  • Plan and implement a developmentally appropriate curriculum, completing weekly lesson plans aligned with early childhood standards that incorporate learning across academic, social‑emotional, physical, creative, and cognitive domains.
  • Plan and lead the daily routine that incorporates individualized, small, and large group activities.
  • Conduct developmental and curriculum‑based assessments, using the information gathered to guide classroom planning and individualized learning experiences.
  • Build positive relationships with children, families, and colleagues, communicating with warmth, dignity, and respect.
  • Individualize teaching approaches to accommodate students with varying abilities and skill levels.
  • Facilitate a smooth transition for children between home and school and provide frequent communication to parents, including messaging through our school’s messaging app, weekly newsletters, and phone calls.
  • Conduct formal and informal conferences with parents to support child development, parenting, and transitions, and complete child‑related questionnaires as requested.
  • Create a safe, clean, organized, engaging, structured, and inclusive classroom environment, following all requirements related to health and safety, licensing, and accreditation, and as noted in the NCECE Staff Handbook and CBI’s Employee Handbook.
  • Manage classroom behavior using positive guidance techniques, consistent with NCECE’s discipline policy.
  • Ensure children are supervised at all times.
  • Lead classroom setup, cleanup, materials preparation, general housekeeping tasks, record‑keeping, and transitions.
  • Provide leadership to the classroom teaching team, including assigning responsibilities, coordinating daily activities, modeling best practices, supporting professional growth, and ensuring a cohesive, positive, and child‑centered learning environment.
  • Plan and attend school meetings, training, and special events, including Curriculum Night and Meet the Teacher.
  • Maintain ongoing communication with school administration regarding child development, classroom needs, family concerns, and school initiatives.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education, Elementary Education, Child Development, or a related field preferred. Equivalent education, credentials, and experience will be considered. Experience leading an early childhood classroom is strongly preferred.
  • Experience working with young children in a preschool, child care, or related educational setting.
  • Patience, flexibility, reliability, and a nurturing disposition with a collaborative approach.
  • Ability to meet all school policies, as well as state licensing and regulatory requirements, including background screening and required training.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and classroom management skills, with the ability to lead a classroom team and maintain accurate records and documentation.
  • Familiarity with Jewish traditions and holidays or a willingness to learn and participate in a Jewish educational environment.
  • We especially welcome candidates who enjoy working with infants, toddlers, and young children under age 2, as our program serves children beginning in infancy.

Job Type: Full‑time

Benefits
  • Employee Childcare Discount
  • Professional Development Opportunities

Starting pay begins at $24.00 per hour for candidates who meet the minimum qualifications. Compensation may be higher based on education, credentials, and experience.
