PEC, an international technology supplier, committed to enable the production of green batteries for a Blue Planet. We are looking for a CFT Lead Electronics to join us in our mission to contribute to a greener future. The role is based at our Butterworth Plant, in Penang. By joining us, you will contribute to building the first large scale battery factories in Europe, Asia and the United States.
As a CFT Lead for Automated Test Systems, you will guide cross-functional teams in developing, validating and deploying PEC’s next-generation automated test solutions for electronic and energy storage technologies. You will coordinate across hardware, software, power electronics and mechanics to provide advanced PCB test and calibration equipment to our manufacturing and after sales teams. You will report to (i) the global CFT lead coordinator and (ii) the COO for SE Asia.
Cross-FunctionalLeadership
- Lead multidisciplinary CFT teams (electronics, software, controls, mechanics, robotics) to define and deliver automated test/calibration systems aligned with PEC’s needs and strategic direction
- Act as the system integrator across R&D, project management, manufacturing and customer-facing teams. Drive communication, planning and alignment across global PEC locations.
- Own architecture, design and verification of automated test platforms for electronic assemblies and battery-related systems. Translate product and internal customer requirements into test coverage, measurement strategies and system specifications
- Ensure compliance with quality, safety, and performance standards
- Embed DFT (Design for Testability) principles into PEC’s test platform roadmap
- Lead root cause analysis and continuous improvement for test failures or performance gaps
- Manage local outsourcing and transfer of test systems to PEC manufacturing sites and service teams in Europe and Asia, including new high capacity facilities
- Provide technical documentation, training, and support to partners and production teams
- Monitor performance of deployed test stations and coordinate upgrades or expansions The ideal candidate has
- Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Mechatronics or Automation
- Strong technical understanding of Power electronics, measurement systems, control systems
- 5+ years’ experience in automated test development for electronics, ideally in high complexity or high-volume environments
- Experience with automation software (e.g., Python, C#, .NET)
