Job Title:
Vice President and Controller

Location:
Boca Raton, FL (100% in office, not hybrid / remote)

Position Summary

The Controller is a key financial leadership role responsible for managing accounting operations, financial reporting, internal controls, compliance obligations, and support for investment-related financial analysis. This individual will work with senior management to ensure the accuracy, integrity, and timeliness of financial information and regulatory reporting.

Primary Responsibilities

Financial Accounting & Reporting for Investment Entities:

Oversee preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements for numerous investment entities, including:

  • Budgeting, Payables, Receivables, Banking and cash management, Loan servicing, Property appraisals, Property insurance, Audits & Tax Returns

Coordinate client reporting

  • Monthly reporting of changes in cost and market value
  • Quarterly narrative updates
  • Provide annual confirmation responses to client auditors

Financial Reporting & Accounting Operations

  • Maintain accounting records for the co. and affiliated entities in accordance with GAAP.
  • Work with the investment team to review and assess potential investments.
  • Assist in the preparation for closing investments and the tracking of the post-closing performance.
Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • Minimum 5–7+ years of accounting experience, preferably in real estate, investment management, or professional services.
  • Strong understanding of GAAP principles and financial reporting.
  • Demonstrated experience with multi-entity accounting structures.
  • High proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and accounting systems (Yardi, Quick Books, or similar).
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage deadlines across multiple projects.
  • Capable of and comfortable with direct client interaction.

Preferred

  • CPA or progress toward certification.
  • Background in real estate operations, investment analysis, or asset management financial reporting.
  • Experience supporting annual audits and external financial reviews.
  • Reports directly to the President
    .
  • Works closely with senior accountants, property management team, auditors, investment committee, and the firm s senior management.
