Job Summary

  • Responsible for utilizing complex financial planning techniques across the Elements of Wealth to deliver advanced estate and financial planning advice to clients typically with $10MM+ in assets under management at Truist, driving positive client outcomes, contributing to revenue, and enhancing client retention.
  • Leverages and sources internal and external resources and centers of influence (COIs) to provide subject matter expertise to clients and prospects.
  • Completes complex diagnostic review of financial and estate planning documents, client objectives and priorities, leading to delivery of a comprehensive analysis and solution presentation.
  • Success measured by the ability to positively impact clients, the Truist Wealth organization, and Truist overall through effective delivery of complex estate and financial planning analysis and actionable advice.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Expertise:
    Remain knowledgeable and effective across the Elements of Wealth, with subject matter expertise in one or more Elements; analyze and apply planning techniques to activate positive outcomes for clients; handle highly complex situations at all levels of wealth and keep current on estate, tax and planning trends.
  • Impact:
    Empower clients to take action and confidently make decisions toward their financial goals; recognize financial planning and implementation opportunities and communicate them to clients and Truist teammates.
  • Advise Process Excellence:
    Execute the financial planning and advice process by identifying and prioritizing goals, gathering data, analyzing current course, developing and presenting recommendations, and partnering for implementation and monitoring progress.
  • Process Adherence:
    Execute planning engagements in compliance with internal policies, procedures, regulatory and legal guidelines; identify at‑risk situations and keep appropriate team members and management informed.
  • Technology:
    Maintain proficiency in all planning software and company systems to analyze a client’s needs and determine advantageous outcomes efficiently.
  • Advice Integration:
    Demonstrate understanding of the advice and planning process, how it relates to and is implemented, and how it is explained to teammates, clients, and prospects; integrate the Truist Wealth process seamlessly into advice and planning models.
  • Relevance:
    Actively engage in Advice and Planning Group and regional Wealth meetings and conference calls; share experiences, insights, and topics related to advice and planning; be a valuable thought leader and partner within supported markets.
  • Coaching/Team Development:
    Engage proactively in the growth and development of teammates within the Advice and Planning Group and across Truist Wealth; collaborate, offer guidance, suggestions, and constructive feedback.
  • Productivity/Efficiency:
    Prioritize workflow and time; manage resources efficiently; communicate status and results using appropriate systems.
  • Networking:
    Create strong relationships with internal partners and external COIs (attorneys, accountants, advisors) for quality engagements and increased business opportunity; represent Truist in civic, community, government, banking, and professional groups.
  • Specialization/Thought Leader:
    Serve as a subject matter expert and thought leader in one or more knowledge areas within the Elements of Wealth related to complex financial planning concepts; be a resource for the advice and planning group.
  • Personal and Professional Development:
    Maintain and pursue professional credentials that enhance the ability to deliver superior client solutions; assume additional responsibilities and suggest improvements that align with Truist’s Purpose, Mission, and Values.
  • Travel:
    Work primarily in the assigned region; may also be utilized virtually or outside the region based on client complexity.
  • QUALIFICATIONS

    Required Qualifications:

  • Complex technical knowledge of financial planning issues—including income tax, investments, debt management, retirement planning, employee benefits, stock options, insurance, estate planning, and business planning.
