Hours & Pay40 hours per week;
Pay $14.00 – $14.00 USD. Base pay may vary based on experience, skills, and location.
- Sell and originate residential mortgage loans to meet sales goals.
- Process residential mortgage loan applications and negotiate terms.
- Guide customers through the mortgage application process.
- Explain required information and loan process details to customers.
- Ensure applications contain accurate information and supporting documentation.
- Manage customer expectations regarding processing times and closing dates.
- Enter loan details into the mortgage loan system accurately.
- Generate referrals for mortgage sales opportunities and other company products.
- Develop plans to achieve sales goals with assistance from sales management.
- Underwrite loans using point‑of‑sale underwriting systems within authority.
- Communicate loan decisions and additional information directly to customers.
- Submit application materials to processing areas and finalize loan commitments.
- Maintain regular communication with customers, underwriters, processors, realtors, and closing agents to ensure the application process proceeds as planned.
- Attend closings as needed and develop knowledge of industry practices through continuing education.
- Participate in training sessions, seminars, and workshops related to mortgage products, laws, and regulations.
- Recommend changes to products, programs, or pricing as appropriate.
- Ensure compliance with auditing and exam requirements for the mortgage portfolio.
- Handle complex mortgage needs and provide education and experience in mortgage industry practices.
- Maintain strong time‑management, communication, and planning skills.
- Bachelor’s degree or comparable work experience.
- At least 2+ years of mortgage origination experience.
- Proven sales ability and negotiation skills.
- Strong time‑management and organizational skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficiency with automated underwriting systems and PC skills.
- Knowledge of mortgage industry rules and regulations.
- Self‑directed with the ability to plan and achieve sales goals.
- Legal eligibility per regulation Z of the Truth in Lending Act and the SAFE Act.
- Eligible for registration as a mortgage loan originator with the NMLS.
- Demonstrated competency in continuous learning and knowledge application.
This position falls within the definition of Loan Originator as defined under Regulation Z of the Truth in Lending Act and the SAFE Act. Candidates must meet all statutory requirements for employment and registration.
