FGI is a global leader in commercial finance, providing mid-market companies with solutions that support business growth. Through its three core business units—FGI Finance, FGI Risk, and FGI Tech—FGI offers flexible, customized lending, risk mitigation, and credit insurance solutions for domestic and international expansion. Headquartered in New York City, FGI delivers tailored, relationship-focused solutions to clients worldwide.

As a Collateral Analyst, you will be a key member of FGI Finance's Collateral Team, responsible for monitoring and protecting the firm's collateral position across a diverse portfolio of asset-based lending and specialty finance transactions. This role plays an integral part in identifying credit risks, ensuring the integrity of collateral reporting, and supporting relationship management through timely analysis and client interaction.

This is a hybrid position based in Boca Raton, FL requiring three days a week in the office and two days remote. The Collateral Analyst reports to the Director of Collateral and collaborates closely with Portfolio Management.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform comprehensive weekly reviews of borrower borrowing base certificates and supporting collateral documentation to validate eligibility, borrowing capacity, advance rates, and compliance with credit agreements.
  • Analyze accounts receivable, inventory, customer concentrations, dilution, aging trends, ineligibles, reserves, and other collateral metrics to identify emerging risks or unusual activity.
  • Investigate and promptly elevate collateral discrepancies, reporting inconsistencies, covenant concerns, or operational issues to senior management with clear recommendations.
  • Assist in the preparation of portfolio reports, management presentations, and shareholder reporting for FGI's investment partner, Goldman Sachs Alternatives.
  • Develop a thorough understanding of each client's business model, collateral profile, industry dynamics, and financing structure to provide meaningful portfolio insights.
  • Communicate directly with borrowers and their finance teams to resolve collateral reporting questions, obtain supporting documentation, and ensure timely and accurate submissions.
  • Prepare written collateral analyses and portfolio commentary highlighting key trends, performance indicators, risk factors, and notable developments for internal management reporting.
  • Support Relationship Managers by responding to client inquiries, assisting with portfolio monitoring, and delivering exceptional client service throughout the life of the lending relationship.
  • Partner with Underwriting, Deal Execution, Operations, Legal, and Portfolio Management teams to facilitate new client onboarding and ongoing portfolio administration.
  • Assist with the implementation of amendments, renewals, covenant modifications, and other credit facility changes by validating collateral-related requirements.
  • Monitor ongoing compliance with borrowing base reporting requirements, insurance requirements, and other collateral-related provisions.
  • Maintain accurate collateral records within internal loan management and reporting systems while ensuring data integrity and completeness.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Economics, or a related discipline.
  • 1+ year of relevant experience preferred (asset-based lending, trade finance, commercial lending, accounting) in an analyst, operations and audit role.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and problem‑solving skills.
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills with the ability to interpret financial information and collateral data.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced, deadline‑driven environment while maintaining a high level of accuracy.
Our Values
  • Own It. We take full accountability for outcomes - not just effort.
  • Create the Path. We are resourceful, creative, and resilient - bringing innovative thinking to solve problems for our clients and partners.
  • Win as a Team. Success only happens in teams - we are one and achieve more together.
