Summary:The Beach Club Recreation Manager is responsible for overseeing recreational programming at The Boca Raton Beach Club, including pool operations, arcade facilities, beach lifeguard services, and activities on the beach. This role ensures the smooth and safe functioning of all recreation areas, delivering exceptional guest and member experiences while maintaining high safety and service standards. The manager supervises staff, manages supplies, assists with budgeting, and develops recreational programs that align with the luxury standards of a five-star resort.
Essential Functions:- Staff Management: Provide direction to and supervise staff, including hiring, training, scheduling, and evaluating. Ensure staff workloads are balanced, and performance is aligned with resort standards.
- Recreational Programming: Monitor day-to-day operations of the Pool, Beach, Arcade, and Resort Programs, ensuring all activities and programs are executed to the highest standards.
- Safety and Compliance: Enforce safety procedures, maintain compliance with health and safety regulations, and provide ongoing maintenance of facilities and equipment.
- Customer Service: Deliver exceptional public relations and customer service, keeping abreast of resort and member happenings to provide better service to guests and members.
- Operations and Maintenance: Perform daily office procedures, manage documentation (pre-registration, legal waivers), assist in inventory management, and ensure all areas are clean and well-maintained.
- Program Development: Formulate and organize seasonal and weekly programs, contributing to the growth and development of recreational offerings.
- Cross-Department Coordination: Attend meetings and coordinate with all resort departments, including food and beverage, maintenance, and guest services, to ensure seamless operations.
- Special Projects: Work on special projects, propose ideas for department growth, and support the development and training of staff.
- Quality Assurance: Assist in maintaining quality assurance for all programs and activities, ensuring outstanding levels of guest and member service.
- Staffing: Ensure department staffing levels are appropriate for business needs and assist with scheduling adjustments when necessary.
- Budgeting and Financials: Assist management with annual budgeting, monthly forecasting, expense controls, and P&L responsibilities.
- Pool Operations: Perform duties of Pool Valet or Host when necessary and ensure the safety and cleanliness of the pool area.
- Documentation and Reports: Maintain accurate records of programs, staff schedules, inventory, and guest interactions, ensuring timely reporting to management.
- Reports to Director of Restaurants
- Collaborate with the Recreation, Food and Beverage, Maintenance, and Guest Services departments.
- Regular interaction with resort leadership and other recreation managers to ensure alignment with overall resort goals.
- Daily interaction with resort guests and members, ensuring a high level of service and satisfaction.
- Communicate with suppliers and vendors for equipment and supply orders.
- Must be able to speak, read, write, and understand the primary language(s) used in the workplace.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Moderate computer skills with experience using point-of-sale systems.
- Lifeguard, First Aid, and CPR certifications required.
- Minimum of three years of experience in the recreation or hospitality industry, with at least two years in a supervisory or managerial role.
- Experience managing teams of 10-30 employees in a high-volume, luxury resort setting.
- Experience with guest service in a five-star resort is preferred.
- Must be able to work indoors and outdoors, often standing and walking for extended periods.
- Ability to lift and move items weighing up to 30 lbs frequently and push/pull carts and equipment weighing up to 250 lbs occasionally.
- Must be physically able to set up program activities, including swimming, bending, climbing, and performing repetitive motions.
- Must be able to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
