SUMMARYThe Human Resources Assistant is responsible for a wide variety of administrative functions within the Human Resources Department.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES- Coordinate pre-employment processes, including background checks, drug screenings, and completion of onboarding documentation.
- Prepare and distribute offer letters for hiring managers and deliver first day materials to candidates.
- Manage onboarding and offboarding tickets, ensuring timely setup and removal of employee access and resources.
- Send first day communications and orientation details to new hires.
- Respond to routine payroll inquiries and complete payroll processing and reporting.
- Support management of company credit cards, including issuance, cancellation, and related communications.
- Maintain accurate and organized employee records, including personnel files and termination documentation.
- Process employment changes in HRIS and payroll systems, such as new hires, terminations, and position updates.
- Manage compliance‑related documentation including wage garnishments, child support orders, and tax levies.
- Assist with employee engagement initiatives including milestone recognition and birthday or special occasion communications.
- Coordinate shipping needs and generate mailing labels when required.
- Provide general administrative support to the HR team and leaders.
- Track and follow up on new hire check‑ins such as 30‑ and 60‑day evaluations.
- Account setup for HSA enrollments for eligible participants.
- Coordinate ordering of business cards, new hire welcome items, and company‑branded materials.
- Support travel arrangements for new employees as needed.
- Assist with accounting notifications related to payroll deductions or expense corrections.
- Maintain accurate payroll records and download payroll reporting as needed.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with strong attention to detail
- Good time‑management skills with the ability to handle various tasks simultaneously
- Highly charismatic with excellent interpersonal communication skills
- Resourceful and thorough with strong organizational skills
- Bachelor’s Degree
- One (1) to two (2) years of experience in Human Resources
- Computer skills include database software, MS Office Suite
- Experience with HRIS or payroll systems a plus
