The Employee Relations Specialist for the Employee Relations group is responsible for investigating and resolving employee relations occurring within their region. This includes ownership and management of ER cases from intake to remediation and follow‑up as necessary.

Responsibilities Employee/Industrial Relations
  • Manage attendance and leave‑related employee relations matters, including reviewing attendance trends, conducting case assessments, counseling employees and managers on attendance expectations, ensuring consistent application of company policies, and partnering with leadership to address performance and attendance concerns.
  • Handle minor to medium ER cases to resolution independently under oversight of ER management, HR business partners, legal counsel, and other stakeholders.
  • Identify risk factors in ER cases and follow management direction for strategy and resolution.
  • Facilitate terminations, including preparing termination letters, conducting termination meetings, and ensuring documentation compliance.
  • Influence and gain buy‑in from managers in sensitive situations while building relationships.
  • Participate in program development and facilitate training on ER services with the Learning department.
  • Collaborate with managers and employment law counsel to modify case responses and advise stakeholders, minimizing risk and achieving business objectives.
  • Ensure consistent application and interpretation of company policies and contracts.
  • In unionized or works‑council environments, facilitate resolution of minor labor grievances and disputes.
Medical Accommodations
  • Conduct the ADA accommodation process, including intake of requests, review of supporting medical documentation, coordination of the interactive process, assessment of reasonable accommodations, partnership with managers and stakeholders, and compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Act as the primary ER point of contact for accommodation requests, maintaining documentation, communicating with employees and leaders, monitoring accommodation effectiveness, and facilitating resolution of complex cases.
  • Advocate for employees while balancing organizational values to find solutions.
  • Document and record approved or denied accommodations in the appropriate system.
Corrective Action
  • Educate business leaders on corrective action and performance review processes, emphasizing early intervention and coaching.
  • Advise management on appropriate resolution of employee behavior and performance issues.
  • Support managers in developing and reviewing corrective action plans and performance improvement plans.
  • Document and record employee actions in the appropriate system.
Special Projects and Administration
  • Complete special HR/ER related projects on time and as directed by the lead.
  • Maintain accurate case management records in systems for reporting and compliance.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, Psychology, or a closely related field.
  • Professional HR certification preferred.
  • 1–3 years of experience as an HR Generalist, Senior HR Operations Specialist, Employee Relations Representative, or equivalent role in a dynamic global organization.
  • Demonstrated experience managing minor employee relations cases.
  • Proven knowledge of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) laws and processes.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to manage multiple employee relations cases simultaneously and set priorities to meet deadlines.
  • Organizational, diplomatic, and confidential information handling skills.
  • Ability to build strong relationships and influence others positively.
  • Experience working in virtual environments and with works councils or unions is an advantage.
  • Proficiency in English;
    Spanish bilingualism preferred;
    Portuguese knowledge is an additional advantage.
