Job Description Summary

The Annenberg School IT team is hiring a motivated, entry‑level Dev Ops Engineer who’s excited to learn and grow. This role is ideal for someone with a strong foundation in IT and/or software development who wants hands‑on experience across the software development lifecycle while building skills in automation, cloud infrastructure, and reliable system operations.

Working with guidance from senior team members, you will support the development and maintenance of research center websites, applications, databases, and cloud environments. You’ll help streamline deployments, improve monitoring and alerting, and enhance system reliability and performance, while collaborating with researchers and stakeholders to troubleshoot issues and deliver practical solutions. You’ll also contribute to documentation and continuous improvement efforts; occasional work outside normal business hours may be required.

Job Description

We are seeking an entry‑level Web/Dev Ops Engineer who is eager to learn and grow while supporting the full web development stack end‑to‑end. In this role, you’ll work alongside experienced team members to write, test, and maintain code; assist with building and improving CI/CD pipelines; and help monitor system health, performance, and reliability.

This is a hands‑on opportunity to gain experience across the infrastructure, application, and deployment layers. You’ll contribute to keeping services secure, scalable, and maintainable by helping troubleshoot issues, participating in deployments and releases, improving automation, and documenting processes and solutions. The ideal candidate is curious, collaborative, and excited to develop Dev Ops best practices and modern web engineering skills in a supportive environment.
