About the Role
Are you an expert in technical project delivery who thrives on turning complex digital concepts into reality? IM Digital is seeking a Senior Technical Project Manager to be the driving force behind our most ambitious client projects, from large-scale website builds to complex system migrations.
In this role, you are the master of execution. You will partner closely with a Client Success Manager (CSM) to form a powerful team: the CSM owns the client relationship, and you own the project delivery. Your primary responsibility is to lead our internal cross‑functional teams—including Strategy, UX/UI Design, Solution Architecture, and Engineering—to deliver high‑quality technical solutions on time and on budget.
You will command the project lifecycle, own our agile ceremonies, and be the internal authority on project health, risks, and timelines.
To ensure clarity, this role is designed to work in tandem with a Client Success Manager.
- You, the TPM, own the project. You manage the internal team, the project plan, the budget, technical problem‑solving, and the agile process. You are the expert on how and when the work gets done.
- The CSM owns the client. They manage the relationship, day‑to‑day communication, client satisfaction, and overall account health. They are the expert on the who and why behind the project.
- Complex Project Delivery: Lead the end‑to‑end planning, execution, and delivery of complex, high‑stakes digital projects, such as new e‑commerce builds, platform migrations, and major system integrations.
- Agile Ceremony Ownership: Facilitate and enforce agile methodologies (Scrum/Kanban) by leading all key ceremonies, including sprint planning, daily stand‑ups, sprint reviews, and retrospectives, ensuring the team is aligned and unblocked.
- Technical Coordination: Serve as the central point of contact between Solution Architects and the Engineering team. Translate technical requirements into actionable project plans, tasks, and timelines, and ensure technical feasibility is accounted for throughout the project.
- Internal Team Leadership: Direct and coordinate the internal project team, fostering a collaborative and efficient environment. You are responsible for orchestrating the work of developers, designers, and strategists to ensure a cohesive delivery process. Contribute to refining project management processes and best practices
- Risk & Scope Management: Proactively identify, document, and mitigate project risks, dependencies, and issues. Manage scope and change requests by assessing their impact on the timeline, budget, and resources, and communicating these implications to the CSM and internal leadership.
- Project Reporting & Communication: Maintain and communicate the master project plan, status reports, and budget tracking. You will provide clear, consistent updates to the CSM and internal stakeholders, and you will partner with the CSM to speak to technical progress in client‑facing meetings.
- 3‑5 years of experience as a Technical Project Manager (or a similar role) within a digital agency or software development environment.
- Proven, hands‑on experience managing the full lifecycle of complex technical projects like website builds, platform migrations (e.g., Shopify, Salesforce Commerce Cloud, Adobe Commerce), or custom application development.
- Certified Scrum Master (CSM) or equivalent Agile certification, with a strong track record of implementing and leading agile ceremonies.
- Expert‑level proficiency with project management tools, specifically Jira and Confluence
, for backlog management, sprint planning, and documentation. - A strong technical foundation and understanding of the web development lifecycle, APIs, and the nature of system integrations (ERP, OMS, PIM).
- Exceptional organizational, problem‑solving, and internal communication skills. You are the source of truth for the project plan.
- A proactive, detail‑oriented, and collaborative mindset focused on enabling your team to do their best work.
