Facilities Maintenance Technician: Multi-Site Expert

Experience:
High School diploma or equivalent required and experience in general maintenance or general construction preferred; or an equivalent combination of education, training and work experience.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:
Valid Florida driver’s license and proof of auto insurance required to perform duties at off-site locations, for supply pick up, and for assisting with equipment.

Skills:


Must have the ability to read, analyze, and interpret professional journals or technical procedures written in English, the ability to type reports and business correspondence in English, and the ability to effectively communicate in English.

Skills/Abilities:
Must be able to frequently lift and/or carry equipment and items that may weigh up to 50 lbs. and must have the ability to work both independently and within a team.

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the functions of this position. This position requires a moderate amount of sitting, walking and the frequent use of hands and arms. Talking and listening will be a major component.

Occasionally, lifting will be required. The ability to focus with the eyes for close range and be able to distinguish colors is required. Additionally, the work environment is a typical climate controlled office environment and the noise is usually moderate, but on occasion, situations louder noise will be prevalent.

Position Goal:
This position is responsible for supporting the program services initiatives of the agency and for ensuring the safety, security, functionality and aesthetics of the Florence Fuller Child Development locations through the performance of routine, safety, preventative and requested maintenance tasks.

Responsibilities:

• Performs thorough daily walk-throughs, removes trash, debris and weeds, and reports additional maintenance needs to the Facility Manager and/or Director of Operations.
• Provides services to all facility locations when requested.
• Frequently checks for requests, satisfactorily performs services and completes request in a timely fashion.
• Performs general repairs related to carpentry, plumbing, machinery and other work as requested.
• Performs monthly preventative and safety maintenance tasks, documenting necessary repairs and/or service and performs on-going maintenance as directed.
• Performs routine landscaping maintenance as needed.
• Maintains tools and equipment, including storage areas, ensuring proper care and good working order is maximized.
• Must be able to frequently lift and carry food items and containers that may weigh as much as 50 lbs.
