About the RoleThe Beaches Assistant Manager plays a critical role in supporting the overall management and operational excellence of beach facilities within the United States. This position is responsible for ensuring a safe, clean, and enjoyable environment for all beach goers by overseeing daily activities, coordinating staff, and managing resources efficiently. The Assistant Manager works closely with the Beaches Manager to implement policies, maintain compliance with safety regulations, and enhance visitor experiences through effective service delivery.
This role requires proactive problem-solving, strong leadership, and excellent communication skills to address challenges and foster a positive team environment. Ultimately, the Beaches Assistant Manager contributes to the successful operation and reputation of the beach facilities, promoting community engagement and environmental stewardship.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate or bachelor’s degree in hospitality, recreation management, or related field preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years experience in a supervisory or management role, preferably in beach operations, parks, or recreational facility management.
- Strong knowledge of safety standards and environmental regulations applicable to beach and coastal areas.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays, to meet operational demands.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel between beach sites as needed.
- Certification in lifeguard training, first aid, or CPR.
- Experience with budget management and procurement processes.
- Familiarity with community outreach and public relations strategies.
- Proficiency in using facility management software and scheduling tools.
- Bilingual skills to effectively communicate with diverse visitor populations.
- Assist in managing daily beach operations, including staff scheduling, resource allocation, and facility maintenance.
- Ensure compliance with all safety protocols, environmental regulations, and local ordinances to maintain a secure and sustainable beach environment.
- Supervise and support beach staff, providing training, guidance, and performance feedback to promote high-quality service.
- Coordinate with vendors, emergency services, and local authorities to address operational needs and respond to incidents promptly.
- Monitor visitor satisfaction and address concerns or complaints to enhance the overall beach experience.
The Beaches Assistant Manager utilizes leadership and organizational skills daily to coordinate staff and ensure smooth beach operations.
