Job Summary
Theater Assistant Managers support the overall operation of Cinemark theaters, ensuring policies and procedures are followed while maintaining operational standards. They are cross‑trained in all departments, provide inspirational training to employees, and may advance to Senior Assistant Manager, Theater Manager, or General Manager after completing the Management Accreditation Program and a minimum of six months of service.
Responsibilities- Follow the direction of the General Manager and support their decisions in communication with staff.
- Train and coach Team Members in their specific job functions.
- Assist in preparing administrative and special reports for the General Manager.
- Observe and participate in inspections of the theater building, parking lot, landscaping, property, roof, exterior signage, and equipment condition.
- Report building, property, and equipment repair needs to the General Manager.
- Enforce dress code compliance and provide superior customer service through guest interactions.
- Apply and enforce Cinemark’s policies and procedures consistently with all Team Members.
- Report all employee relations issues to the General Manager or, in the GM’s absence, through the company’s reporting portal.
- Maintain high work ethic standards and code of conduct.
- Identify and sanitize high‑contact areas, properly use PPE, and adapt to cleaning tasks as required.
- Address safety and security issues such as trip hazards, lighting, and suspicious persons.
- Perform other work‑related duties as assigned.
- At least 18 years of age.
- High School or G.E.D. graduate preferred.
- Completion of the Management Accreditation Program’s basic courses (Management Foundations, Annual Certifications, MAP Core).
- Basic food handling training and any required local or state certifications.
- Safe Alcohol Service training for employees working with alcohol.
- Availability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Regular and consistent attendance.
- Energetic, friendly attitude and excellent guest service skills.
- Accurate cash handling and basic math skills.
- Strong interpersonal communication skills in English.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Capability to follow directions and respond with a sense of urgency.
- Excellent time management, organizational skills, and attention to detail.
- Ability to train and lead others.
- Conflict resolution skills.
Frequent bending, kneeling, and lifting up to 50 lbs.; frequent standing, walking, and reaching around the theater; moderate to high noise levels; extended periods of standing.
