Position:
Maintenance Supervisor
Shift: Day shift 7:00 am – 3:30 pm, Monday – Friday.
Position OverviewAs the Maintenance Supervisor you are responsible for all maintenance functions vital to ensure efficient plant operations, including manufacturing and facilities equipment, utilities, boilers, HVAC, compressed air, air dryers, electrical services, and building maintenance. The role includes mentoring and developing the Maintenance and Operations teams in loss elimination, risk management, and life‑cycle asset management, sustaining a proactive planned maintenance program. Other responsibilities involve training, mentoring, and evaluating mechanics on maintenance and engineering elements of Nestlé Continuous Excellence (NCE) using TPM, supervising regulatory compliance of the environmental program, and overseeing project installation, modification, or renovation of building and equipment.
Key Responsibilities- Guide the factories to reduce technical stoppages in equipment or areas of common occurrence, prioritizing high‑impact zones (e.g., air compressors, Katha Bars, boilers) and reviewing all line processes and utilities essential to safety and compliance.
- Supervise plant/equipment trends to maximize operation and reduce planned/unplanned downtime.
- Facilitate the evolution/refinement of maintenance activities to minimize downtime (PMs, changeovers, etc.).
- Ensure implementation of repairs or modifications from gap assessments, audits, and notifications with high‑quality workmanship.
- Accurately plan job, material, and services.
- Maintain equipment history, damage codes, and root‑cause analysis accurately.
- Develop and lead a network of factory SMEs, training them in the NCE reliability program.
- Evaluate team performance and provide periodic feedback to promote development.
- Collaborate with corporate engineers, suppliers, contractors, and plant partners to meet customer needs.
- Encourage teamwork across functions (Engineering, Production, Quality Management, etc.).
- Conduct regular inspections to identify potential problems and solicit operator feedback.
- Own technical stores, scheduled work orders, labor hour allocation, and equipment BOM.
- Supervise about 10 technicians and develop work schedules to optimize maintenance skills and personnel availability.
- Bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline preferred; manufacturing or production equipment maintenance experience may substitute.
- At least 3 years of supervisory or lead level experience with direct or indirect reports.
- Knowledge of CMMS and PLCs strongly preferred.
- Active management style to guide and mentor technicians through troubleshooting.
- Excellent analytical and problem‑solving skills.
- Understanding of regulatory requirements for food safety.
- Strong interpersonal skills.
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Adaptability to changing demands.
- Excellent organizational skills.
- Knowledge of maintenance cost drivers in manufacturing.
- Working knowledge of CMMS systems (SAP, Maximo) for data mining and analysis.
- Physical ability to lift, stand, climb, bend, and lift up to 50 pounds.
- Work environment may involve powders, chemicals, and allergens (peanuts, tree nuts, milk, dairy, eggs, wheat, gluten, soy, fish, shellfish).
