Marketing & Events Specialist (Contract)

Type: Contract
Location: Hybrid – Local candidates required (Tu/Wed/Thu in office; Mon/Fri remote)

Employment Eligibility: Gravity cannot transfer nor sponsor a work visa for this position. Applicants must be eligible to work in the U.S. for any employer directly (we are not open to contract or “corp to corp” agreements).

Our client is hiring a Marketing & Events Specialist to support a high-volume events program during a maternity leave period. This role will manage key events, contribute to the annual user conference, and support tradeshow operations across a large events portfolio. The ideal candidate brings strong event-management experience, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to collaborate across multiple teams.

The Role
  • Plan, coordinate, and execute company events, conferences, trade shows, webinars, and customer engagements.
  • Manage event logistics including registration, rooming lists, staffing schedules, vendor coordination, booth design, collateral, shipping, and on-site support.
  • Support the development and execution of the annual user conference program, partnering with internal teams across the organization.
  • Attend weekly meetings with external partners and internal stakeholders related to event planning and execution.
  • Assist with tradeshow operations as part of a large-scale events calendar (150+ events annually).
  • Develop event timelines, budgets, and post-event reports.
  • Ensure brand consistency across all event materials and experiences.
  • Support multi-channel marketing campaigns (email, social, digital, content).
  • Create and manage marketing collateral such as presentations, brochures, one-pagers, and promotional materials.
  • Draft and edit marketing copy for newsletters, announcements, event promotions, and social media.
  • Collaborate with sales, product, and leadership teams to support marketing and event priorities.
  • Manage relationships with external vendors, agencies, and event partners.
  • Track project progress, deadlines, and deliverables to ensure smooth execution.
  • Monitor event and campaign performance metrics and prepare reports with insights and recommendations.
  • Maintain accurate records of event ROI, lead capture, and engagement outcomes.
Skills & Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, or related field.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in events, marketing, or related roles.
  • Strong background in event planning—internal or external corporate events.
  • Experience managing trade shows is required.
  • Ability to manage both small and large-scale events.
  • High attention to detail.
  • Strong organizational and project-management skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Proficiency with Google Suite (Gmail, Sheets, Docs) and Excel
    .
  • Strong presentation development skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
  • Creative mindset with strong attention to detail.
Preferred Skills
  • Experience in B2B, technology, or healthcare industries.
  • Familiarity with event platforms and virtual event tools.
  • Basic design or presentation experience (PowerPoint, Canva, Adobe tools).
  • Understanding of analytics tools (Google Analytics, CRM dashboards).
