Position: Registered Nurse (RN) - L&D

Overview

Full Time, Nights

Up to $10,000 SOB for qualified candidates, paid over 24 months.

Responsibilities

• The Women's Services RN provides high quality, safe, cost effective, total nursing care to postpartum patients and neonates by utilizing the nursing process.
• Assumes responsibility for overall coordination and integration of patient care based on the needs of the patient and family members.
• Directs care according to established standards of safety, risk management, and infection control, with the goal of discharging the patient with an optimum level of care provided.
• Utilizes evidence‑based practice in accordance with professional standards and adheres to the Florida State Nurse Practice Act.
• Reviews orders/test results and documents care delivered accurately and timely in the electronic health record.
• Provides care in a family‑centered environment where mothers and newborns remain together for the duration of the hospital stay.
• Responsible for delivery room attendance and stabilization of the well newborn.
• Applies fetal heart rate (FHR) monitoring and interprets FHR tracing; cares for both low risk and high risk antepartum/intrapartum and postpartum mothers.
• Recognizes abnormal FHR patterns and implements appropriate intervention.
• Cares for patients experiencing perinatal loss.
• Cares for patients undergoing cesarean section, tubal ligation, and cerclage.
• Cares for patients on tocolytic drugs and cervical ripening agents.
• Demonstrates ability to circulate on all surgical cases in the LDRP OR.

Qualifications

• Education: Minimum:
  Graduate of an RN program. Preferred:
  Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing.

• Experience: Minimum:
  One (1) year experience in a Med/Surg area or in nursery/mother baby/Labor and Delivery unit preferred.

Certification/Licensure/Registration

• Florida RN License
• American Heart Association BLS
• American Heart Association ACLS
• NRP at hire or within 90 days of start date for inexperienced RN
