Job Summary

Job Shift: Rotate

Job Type: Full Time

Up to $20,000 SOB for qualified candidates, paid over 24 months.

To provide direction/supervision of staff and planning for safe and effective nursing care of the patient undergoing surgical services. Supervise nursing duties according to AORN / ASPAN / SGNA standards and established policies and procedures of the department of Surgery, Sterile Processing and Anesthesia Techs. Assist in the maintenance of a safe environment. Assists and provides input to the Director regarding employment interviews, staff performance issues/needs, and employee schedules.

Assists with the ongoing Performance Improvement Program. Specialized nursing care utilizes evidence-based practice in accordance with professional standards. Adhere to the Florida State Nurse Practice Act and reviews orders/test results and documents care delivered accurately and timely in the electronic health record.

Qualifications

Minimum Education:

Graduate of an RN program

Preferred: B.S.N.

Experience:

Minimum five (3) years Managerial experience preferred.

Required Certification / Licensure / Registration:

* Current Florida RN license

* American Heart Association BLS/ ACLS / PALS

* Understanding of AORN standards of practice

* Understanding of ASPAN standards of practice

* CNOR preferred

* Demonstrates yearly competencies specific to unit

West Boca Medical Center (WBMC) is part of the Palm Beach Health Network and has been serving southern Palm Beach and northern Broward counties for over 37 years. WBMC offers general medical and surgical care, orthopedics, a robotic surgery program, a state-of-the art breast imaging center, womens and childrens services and the only level III NICU in southern Palm Beach County.
