Responsibilities
- Conduct inspections of health care facilities using the established survey process.
- Evaluate facilities for state licensure and federal certification requirements, including Medicare/Medicaid participation.
- Document findings and complete written reports of survey results.
- Perform surveys independently, as a member of a team, or as a team leader.
- Complete the Surveyor Minimum Qualifications Test within the first 12 months of employment.
- Work regular hours and may be required to work weekends, holidays, or during emergencies, including travel to other locations to assist with disaster response.
- Maintain a good attendance record and report to work daily and on time.
- Adhere to continuing education requirements for geriatric care.
- Utilize computer equipment and software such as Microsoft Word, Outlook, and smartphone technology.
- Possess the ability to lift weights up to 25 pounds and travel with or without accommodations.
- Registered Professional Nurse license in Florida, meeting Florida Statute 464 requirements.
- Minimum of two years of professional nursing experience.
- Knowledge of nursing principles, human anatomy and physiology, and state/federal survey requirements.
- Ability to compile, organize, and analyze data; develop and implement monitoring programs.
- Strong communication skills, both oral and written, including attentive listening and interview procedures.
- Proficiency with microcomputer equipment and software for data entry and retrieval.
- Physical capability to lift up to 25 pounds and ability to travel.
