This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced PACU nurse who is looking for a per diem position in a medical office OR environment in the Boca Raton area Monday, Tuesday, Thursday. This individual must be a self-starter, multitask oriented, motivated, and able to work in a fast paced environment and work well under pressure. You will also assist the physician and/or physician assistant with in-office procedures and surgeries.
Responsibilities- Responsible for pre‑op and post‑op phone calls.
- Oversee inventory, stocking and ordering of all OR supplies.
- Prepare the operating room for the patient by assembling supplies and instruments and ensuring proper functioning of equipment.
- Develop policies and procedures for quality care in the OR setting pre‑op and post‑op.
- Prior knowledge of allergic responses and prescribed protocol (emergency drugs, asthma drugs, etc.).
- Assess patient’s condition and monitor post‑surgical recovery.
- Maintain good rapport with other department, and within your own department.
- Ensure stability of patient’s vital signs and administer medication when appropriate.
- Assist physician and/or physician assistant in exam rooms.
- Assist physician and/or physician assistant with in‑office procedures and surgeries.
- Assure that appropriately trained personnel, equipment and supplies are available for all surgical procedures.
- Assess and document patient status upon admission and on an ongoing basis until patient is discharged.
- Assist in the development of and adhere to all center policies and procedures to assess quality care.
- Review charts for quality and assurance.
- Assist in yearly state inspection with zero deficiencies.

Coordination, manual, and physical dexterity sufficient to properly and adequately use various items of office equipment as required of the position or directed by the Manager. The position may involve sitting, standing, bending, and stooping. When necessary must be able to assist in the transfer of a patient from a wheelchair to an exam table or chair. The incumbent must also be capable of lifting up to 25 pounds.
