What You’ll Do
- Serve as an expert of SGC’s card authentication and grading standards.
- Serve as an expert in SGC’s processing procedures and protocols.
- Authenticate and evaluate the condition of trading cards (sports, non-sports, or TCG) in an expedient manner while maintaining accuracy.
- Maintain individual daily grading production goals.
- Improve knowledge and skill through active personal research and experience.
- Stay up-to-date with current industry developments and new counterfeits and alteration methods.
- Maintain the quality of grading products.
- Share knowledge to help improve the skill of the SGC Grading Team.
- Engage in monthly meetings and re‑training sessions as needed.
- Report to the Manager of Grading and work from the Boca Raton office.
- Firsthand knowledge of trading cards, tickets and other sports, non‑sports and TCG collectibles.
- Expert in counterfeits and card doctoring methods across all categories.
- Expert‑level understanding and comprehension of the card grading system and standards.
- Strong research skills.
- Effective problem‑solving abilities.
- Strong organization skills to achieve production goals and maximize productivity.
- Ability to work in a positive team environment.
- Detail‑oriented and able to focus over long stretches of time.
- Thrives in a high‑paced environment.
- Computer use: typing, mouse work, and sitting/looking at a computer for extended periods.
- Hand use: regular use for various tasks.
- Hearing: ability to hear alarms, signals, and verbal instructions.
- Lifting & carrying: ability to routinely lift, carry, and move materials up to 40 pounds.
- Sitting: ability to sit for extended periods of time.
- Sitting or standing: ability to sit or stand for extended periods of time.
- Vision: use of vision‑aiding devices, and ability to work in dark or dimly lit rooms with soft desk lighting.
The hourly range for this position is $20–$32. Entry‑level operations positions generally start at an hourly rate of $17. Actual compensation in this range will be based on a variety of non‑discriminatory factors, including location, job level, prior experience, and skill set.
