Position OverviewWe are seeking a detail-oriented and technically strong Test & Compliance Engineer to support verification and validation (V&V) activities for industrial and aerospace camera systems. This role is responsible for developing and executing test strategies aligned with commercial, industrial, and aerospace standards, ensuring requirements compliance, and evaluating internal and third-party test data.
The ideal candidate has experience translating complex requirements into actionable test plans, working within regulated and standardized frameworks (e.g., FCC, CE, MIL-STD, etc.), and authoring clear, defensible verification documentation.
Key Responsibilities- Verification & Validation (V&V):
- Develop, document, and maintain Verification and Validation (V&V) plans
, procedures, and reports in alignment with relevant MIL-STDs and aerospace standards
. - Define verification methods (test, analysis, inspection, demonstration) traceable to system and subsystem requirements.
- Support execution of environmental, functional, and qualification testing.

- Requirements Analysis & Traceability:
- Review and interpret system, hardware, and software requirements for testability, completeness, and compliance
. - Create and maintain requirements traceability matrices (RTMs) linking requirements to verification methods and results.
- Collaborate with systems engineering to clarify ambiguous or incomplete requirements.

- Test Planning & Execution:
- Develop detailed test procedures and cases
- Collaborate with the engineering team to create test scripts
. - Coordinate and support lab, bench, and field testing in collaboration with engineering and operations teams.
- Ensure proper test setup, instrumentation, and data collection integrity.
- Compliance & Standards Adherence:
- Ensure test activities comply with MIL-STD, aerospace regulatory requirements, and internal quality processes
. - Support audits and reviews by providing compliant documentation and evidence packages.

- Third-Party Vendor Evaluation:
- Review, interpret, and summarize external vendor test reports (e.g., environmental, EMI/EMC, reliability).
- Assess vendor data for completeness, validity, and compliance against contractual and regulatory requirements.
- Identify gaps, risks, or discrepancies and provide actionable recommendations.
- Documentation & Reporting:
- Generate clear, concise test reports, compliance summaries, and technical justifications
. - Present findings to cross-functional teams, including engineering, quality, and program management.

- Cross-Functional Collaboration:
- Work closely with systems, design, quality, and manufacturing teams to ensure compliance throughout the product lifecycle.
- Support design reviews, test readiness reviews (TRR), and verification closure reviews.
- Bachelor's degree in Aerospace, Electrical, Mechanical, or Software Engineering
, or related field. - 5-7 years of experience in aerospace and defense programs or other highly standardized and regulated industry.
- Demonstrated experience writing and executing V&V test plans and procedures
. - Strong familiarity with commercial regulatory and MIL-STD frameworks (e.g., NA/European EMC, MIL-STD-810, MIL-STD-461, etc.).
- Proven ability to read, interpret, and derive test cases from technical requirements
. - Experience reviewing and assessing third-party/vendor test reports for compliance and completeness.
- Strong understanding of requirements traceability and verification methodologies
. - Excellent technical writing and communication skills.
- Familiarity with aerospace certification standards such as DO-160
. - Familiarity with EMI/EMC, environmental, or qualification testing
. - Experience in system integration and hardware/software validation environments.
- Knowledge of configuration management and quality systems (AS9100 or similar).
- Experience supporting government or defense contracts
. - Ability to analyze test data statistically and identify trends or anomalies.
- Analytical thinking and attention to detail

- Ability to synthesize complex data into clear conclusions

- Problem-solving in regulated, high-reliability environments
- May require up to 10% travel in support of 3rd party testing efforts
