Position Summary:
The Principal Scientist, Analytical Development supports the development of protein purification processes.
- Provide strong technical guidance to projects and mentoring to team members.
- Independently manage, design, analyze experiments to meet project goals on time.
- Prepare protocols, execute protocols, complete reports for assay development, qualification, validation, and verifications.
- Participate critically in the Quality and Change Review Boards.
- Technical transfer of assays to other departments.
- Serve as a technical expert in assay development and troubleshooting.
- Be a technical expert across a variety of functional and immunological assays.
- Draft SOPs.
- Maintain knowledge of current QC assays and suggest areas for improvement.
- Maintain strict adherence to GMP documentation practices.
- Review the reports and work of other scientists on the team.
- Work collaboratively.
- Maintain knowledge of regulatory guidelines pertaining to assay development/qualification/validation.
- Master’s degree or PhD in biochemistry, chemical engineering, biophysics, biology or related discipline.
- Bachelor's degree and 20 years of process development experience.
- 10+ years of experience in assay development.
- 5 years of experience in a GMP environment.
