Scientific Writer & Funding Specialist
Salary Range: $70,000 - $80,000
A biopharma company is seeking an experienced Scientific Writer to lead the development of high-impact technical documents, publications, and grant applications in the cell and gene therapy space. You will collaborate closely with the R&D lab to translate complex translational and preclinical data into compelling narratives for external stakeholders, peer-reviewed journals, and funding bodies.
Key Responsibilities- Content Generation & Strategy: Lead the drafting, editing, and submission of grant proposals (including NIH opportunities), scientific manuscripts, white papers, and executive presentation decks.
- Funding & Opportunity Tracking: Identify relevant public and private funding opportunities; interpret program guidelines to ensure alignment and full compliance.

Collaboration:
Partner with R&D leadership to synthesize complex preclinical research into clear, persuasive scientific arguments, research strategies, and data visual representations. - Project & Submission Management: Coordinate all supporting documentation (e.g., budgets, biosketches, resource descriptions), maintain submission timelines, and manage post-award reporting or tracking.
- Cross-Functional Writing Support: Assist internal teams with writing standard operating procedures (SOPs), regulatory documentation, and conference materials as needed.
- Bachelor’s or Master's degree in a life sciences discipline
- 3–5 years of scientific or technical writing experience within a biotech or biopharma setting.
- Exceptional technical writing and editing skills
- Strong project management ability under tight deadlines
- Comfortable working across multidisciplinary teams.
- Experience or familiarity with federal or private grant submission processes (e.g., NIH, eRA Commons, Grants.gov) is highly desirable.
