Role Description
We are seeking an exceptional Sommelier to join IL MIGLIORE in Boca Raton, Florida. This is a full-time, on-site position integral to our launch and ongoing operations. Reporting to the General Manager and collaborating closely with the Executive Chef, the Sommelier will curate an outstanding wine program focused on Italian varietals and producers, provide expert pairings to elevate the menu, drive wine sales through engaging guest interactions, manage the wine cellar and inventory with precision, train front-of-house staff on wine knowledge, and contribute to a seamless, world-class hospitality experience.
The role demands a genuine passion for wine, deep product expertise, and a commitment to quiet luxury service.
Qualifications
- Extensive expertise in wine, with a strong emphasis on Italian wines (regions, producers, vintages, and varietals) and advanced pairing principles
- Proven experience as a Sommelier in fine dining or high-end restaurants, with a track record of successfully promoting wine sales and enhancing guest experiences
- Solid understanding of food and beverage integration to create harmonious pairings that complement Italian cuisine
- Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills for engaging with discerning guests and collaborating with kitchen and service teams
- Formal Sommelier certification (e.g., Court of Master Sommeliers CMS Level 2/3+, WSET Advanced/Level 3, or equivalent) highly preferred
- Proficiency in wine inventory management, cellar organization, storage best practices, and cost control
- Exceptional guest service orientation with the ability to deliver personalized, sophisticated recommendations in a high-pressure fine dining environment
- Passion for excellence, meticulous attention to detail, and alignment with IL MIGLIORE's ethos of authenticity, quiet luxury, and uncompromising standards
Compensation & Application
- Competitive salary range: $60,000–$75,000 annually, commensurate with experience, certifications, and proven fine dining expertise (additional earnings potential through wine sales commissions and tips)
