About the JobThe Assistant Store Manager assists the Store Manager in leading a customer‑focused, top‑line sales driven, profitable and productive store location. They inspire and motivate others by exhibiting core value behaviors, including a customer‑focused selling culture, and ensuring the execution of the store’s KPIs. Assistant Managers also hold store employees accountable for following all policies and procedures.
Responsibilities- Displays a customer‑focused mindset at all times and ensures all team members deliver an engaging, positive and authentic customer experience.
- Handles customer situations in compliance with policy and procedures, attempts to "solve for yes" and escalates issues as appropriate.
- Maintains a clean and well‑organized store, promoting a safe working and shopping environment to maximize the customer experience.
- Shares customer feedback with the leadership team to improve the overall customer experience.
- Performs as the floor supervisor during non‑peak periods such as breaks.
- Coaches and provides feedback on associate performance; supports associate engagement by recognizing and rewarding outstanding performance.
- Provides direction to associates to ensure understanding of company directives and standards.
- Prioritizes and delegates tasks to meet all operational needs.
- Supports and executes visual directives and maintains visual standards set by the company.
- Drives efficiency in all operational store processes and maintains merchandise flow, filling and presentation standards throughout the store and stockroom.
- Ensures all store associates follow all policies, procedures and all Safety Program practices.
- Reflects the Pac Sun brand by demonstrating passion and affinity for product, brands, fashion and trends.
- Inspires and motivates others by consistently exhibiting core value behaviors.
- Demonstrates willingness, aptitude, and initiative to learn what is unknown about product, brands, fashion and trends.
- Passion for product, brands, fashion and trends.
- High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Effective written, verbal and presentation skills.
- Strong communications skills.
- Proficient in math and possesses strong computer skills.
- Must frequently lift and/or move up to 20 pounds, occasionally up to 35 pounds.
- Must frequently sit/stand for long periods and climb ladders as needed.
- Requires frequent talking, hearing, handling or feeling, reaching, twisting or squatting.
- Must maneuver around sales floor, stockroom and office areas.
- Vision requirements include close vision, distance vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
- Must work in open environments with fluctuating temperatures and standard lighting.
- Hotel, airplane and car travel may be required for SM and above roles only.
This is a part‑time position. Ability to work a range between 20-40 hours per week is required. Flexibility with work schedule, including weekends, nights and peak holiday periods, is required.
